Creative Biolabs is a world-leading biotechnology company that has been at the forefront of monkeypox (MPX) inactivated virus vaccine development. Based on the most advanced platform and strong expertise in the field of virus research, Creative Biolabs is focused on providing inactivated virus vaccine-based anti-monkeypox drug discovery services to customers worldwide. We are confident to provide a reasonable solution and one-stop service according to your specific needs to ensure the progress of the project.

Overview of MPX

MPX is a rare but potentially serious viral zoonotic disease caused by MPX virus, a type of enveloped double-stranded DNA virus belonging to the genus Orthopoxvirus of the Poxviridae family. The disease is spread from person to person through direct contact with bodily fluids or monkeypox lesions. The initial symptoms are similar to those of smallpox and the flu, including fever, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes, which later develop into a widespread rash on the face and body. The patient may experience itching and pain all over the body, and eventually, the rash may crust over. In most cases, the disease resolves on its own without treatment.

Inactivated Virus Vaccine Strategies to Prevent MPX

Vaccines serve as an effective tool for protecting people from MPX disease if administered properly before or after exposure. Smallpox vaccines are reported to be beneficial in preventing smallpox, monkeypox and other diseases caused by the Orthopoxvirus. In general, by attenuating the virus to render the harmless while maintaining immunogenic properties, virus-based vaccines provide durable long-term immunity. Some live attenuated vaccines are eventually replaced by non-replicating or inactivated vaccines, which represents an evolutionary process. Inactivated vaccines are vaccines that use killed viruses to stimulate the immune system to protect the body from infection. While inactivated vaccines serve the same purpose as live vaccines, they cannot replicate or cause disease because the viruses have died.

Compared with live vaccines, inactivated vaccines have a weaker immune response, so multiple doses are required to obtain sustained immunity to the disease. Unlike live vaccines, inactivated vaccines show little cellular immunity. Therefore, inactivated vaccines can be used for boosting to supplement previous vaccinations. One of the challenges in effectively developing vaccines is the immune correlates of protection. Vaccine development has led to improved antigen selection and the design of better vectors. At Creative Biolabs, our extensive experience in animal models, safety testing, infectious diseases, and immunology will help you select the most promising vaccine candidates and provide customers with the information they need to develop inactivated monkeypox virus vaccines.

Creative Biolabs has been focused on providing reasonable inactivated virus vaccine-based anti-monkeypox drug discovery solutions and quality monkeypox products to help global customers develop MPX virus related vaccines and drugs. For more details, please feel free to contact us.
